Greetings Committee Members and Judicial Delegates,
At a time when the integrity of our courts and the rule of law have never been more important, I am honored to formally announce my candidacy for the position of Justice of the Supreme Court in the Seventh Judicial District.
With almost 20 years in the legal profession, I have dedicated my practice to upholding the rule of law, ensuring access to justice, and serving the people of our community with fairness and integrity. My work has always been about fighting for those that most need protection. This journey has taken me to courts throughout this jurisdiction. From Justice Courts in rural villages to Federal Court, I have litigated a broad range of legal matters that are crucial to our community.
In my role now as a Court Attorney Referee in the Seventh Judicial District, I preside over Family Court matters, applying my legal experience to safeguard the rights and well-being of individuals and families. Prior to this role, I served as an Assistant Public Defender, where I represented clients in Family Court, focusing on parent representation in abuse and neglect matters. My tenure at Legal Assistance of Western New York (LawNY) allowed me to advocate for indigent clients in family law and civil litigation, further strengthening my commitment to equal access to justice. These experiences, along with my time in private practice, have deepened my understanding of the broad range of legal matters litigated in Supreme Court.
Throughout my career, I have remained steadfast in my commitment to justice, equity, and the fair application of the law. I believe my diverse experience—ranging from public defense to judicial decision-making—has uniquely prepared me to serve as a Supreme Court Justice with wisdom, impartiality, and a deep respect for the legal principles that guide our society.
Sincerely,
Darius K. Lind, Esq.
